Materials:
- Scissors
- Tape
- 4 Pieces of Paper (Square or rectangle, just make sure they're all the same size)
- Toothpicks
Important Note: If you are starting with square paper, fold it diagonally & then skip ahead to step 4.
The Process:
Step 1: Acquire Paper. You will need 4 pieces to make 1 flower, or 7 pieces to make 2 flowers.

Step 2: Fold the corner to the opposite edge of the paper.

Step 3: Cut off & discard excess paper (or save to make smaller flowers!)

Step 4: Fold your large triangle in half Twice more (Repeat steps 1-4 with your other pieces of paper)
Step 5: Cut into a petal shape (Make sure you cut the correct side of the triangle.

Step 6: Use a pencil to trace the shape of your petal onto your other three folded pages. Then cut along the line you have drawn.

Step 7: Unfold your 'petals'. Following the lines from the fold, cut 1 petal out of the first page, 2 petals from the second, 3 from the third, and finally cut the fourth in half. You should end up with 7 petal sets, numbered 1-7. You can throw out the single petal, as it is too small to tape together.
Step 8: Tape your petals together! To tape, overlap 1 swoop on each petal set. On the larger petals (5-7), I suggest putting tape on both the inside & outside of the petals. For the smaller petals (2-4), only taping the outside should be fine.
Step 9: Assemble your petals onto your toothpick! Starting with your smallest petal, insert the toothpick into the top & out the bottom. Proceed to add the next layers in order of size. If you taped your petals correctly, there should be a little resistance when shoving the toothpick out the bottom of each petal.
Step 10: Take & share pretty photos of your creation! (Bonus points if those photos include a book!)
