Meeting Becky Albertalli, author of one of my favorite books, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda at Read Up, Greenville!

Hello everyone! How are you? My name is Sarah and I'm a freshman in high school.

I've always liked reading, but I truly fell in love with it when I read The Selection Series by Kiera Cass a couple of years ago. The Selection series is also what sparked my love of young adult books!

While I do appreciate high fantasy (such as the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas), I mostly read contemporaries. My favorites include Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli and Save the Date by Morgan Matson. Currently, I'm reading Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson!

When I'm not reading, you can find me writing, watching Netflix, involved in a show for theatre at my school, attending book festivals, or taking pictures for my bookish Instagram (@sarah_of_velaris)

I've been involved in TAC since it started in March 2018, and I absolutely love it! It's such a great way to meet fellow readers in my community, and the other members are so friendly and fun to be around. It's awesome to be able to completely nerd out over books with other people in real life. I also love planning events, which is a big part of TAC. My favorite event we've done so far was having Sarah Nicole Lemon at Bookmarks when her book Valley Girls was released. I had the opportunity to introduce her, and it was so much fun!
